P 4 Pan

.

and tacking north north-west when the wind was in the south
i could tell where we were heading
prospero's other island where the pied piper took us
children
singing as we went

singing

yes i believe!

i have faith in your clockwork logic
we can fly along your wires

and we danced right off the stage
down along the trenches
and out of the age

we
do not age

under this flat feld
in the compass of an island
in our never never
land.

Hey, there's Tinkerbell! Love her! ;)
That's a great piccie- and your poem- it's amazing. There is so much to it, I think- underneath it all. I get a hint of melancholy...
:)

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
well, the real story of Barrie and the 'lost boys' is quite tragic.

and thanks:))

[identity profile] reginaclarejane.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm... I'll have to look that up...

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
it's very strange and moving - but also very sad i'm afraid.

from the stories told to the children to the stage production of Peter Pan itself and beyond to the fates of Barrie and the family and friends, the pressure felt by some of 'being' Peter Pan, the events of WW1 and later etc.

It's a bit eerie that you posted this...I just found a Tinkerbell pen in the mail room and snagged it for my very own.

You have underlying stories in your poetry. I like how you take classical pieces and reflect your version. You're very skilled and I enjoy reading you. :) I hope I can for a long time.

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
thanks :)) - this really was hard to write, to balance the elements i wanted, it was a very self conscious process, which is unusual for my doodlings.

and allow me to say that i look forward to further exploring your work also :))
