presenting... pt 2.

this fab piece was co-incidentally written by chalissa and through the wonder of magic serendipity fits very nicely with my piece Dr of Locks - and so i am going to use it as a sort of rotating second act for the puppet show.
Oh, fans of Chalissa should note that Bones wears a beret in her honour.
Ok, roll 'em!

bones and the sandman

i got a problem of a permanent kind
that is, until i pass it to the first sucker i find
i called up mac who pays my rent
he gave me the number of a real gent



this gent said "listen, i can fix it all
just don't let folks catch on, alright?
i know a couple of guys you can call
they're sharp, but they only work at night...

one of the guys calls himself bones
the other is known as sandman jones
i can't guarantee nothin'
but i think they'll fit the bill"

so i got on the phone with the guy called bones
on the other line was sandman jones
i started to talk, and they said "shut up
you're willing to pay and that's enough"

bones said "baby, you're blind as a bat"
the sandman said "i second that
you got yourself a pretty nice problem here
but the solution is crystal clear

now me 'n' bones, we get around
we're mighty familiar with the underground
i mean underground in more ways than one
and your job, baby, we can git 'er done"

bones said "baby, we'll be there tonight
don't stay up waiting 'cause we don't like light
just go to bed, don't worry your head
let me and the sandman knock 'em dead"

well, i woke up at the crack of dawn
bones and the sandman had been and gone
and i guess my problem of the permanent kind
it weren't so permanent

so i gotta tell you, if you're ever in deep
and your friends seem to vanish, come twilight
when all good people are fast asleep
bones and the sandman work at night.

wow creepy friends - in a kind of folklore meaning, you know, the Hero in the tale could have some mighty friends - one is always thirsty. andother is always hungry, the next is the fastest runner, another one shoots the fly in the eye from the horizon... so the boines and the sandmen seems to be of the same kind - they solve all problems for you :)))
