[Error: unknown template qotd]Diane, it’s 9.30 a.m. a clear day, over-cast however. Yes, probably a south westerly, low pressure judging from the extra exertion it took to complete my exercises this morning. Yes, Diane you will be pleased to hear that I am a man of my word and that word is ‘routine’.

I know you will probably be thinking ‘yes, coffee – and pie!’ Now, Diane you have heard me speak many times of the benefits of exercise – especially the deep breathing and stretching found in the disciplines of Tibet. This is especially true for a man of stature, wiry by build.

Exercise allows a body a tune up every day, no use walking around with a flat tyre, or flat feet rather I should say, ha ha, or an overheated engine – metaphorically speaking.

Talking of overheated – I should really send a message to room service, the pie this morning was too hot, Diane I nearly burnt my tongue. This may not be the average hotel, but it is hardly The Overlook and we are not surrounded by snow, the pie (blueberry today) would have retained both its warmth and flavour at room temperature long enough for me to have consumed at a natural rate.

Still on the subject, Diane, of over heated, though they remain professional and courteous I have noticed that even here the people show a noticeable reaction to the charisma of my ‘wife’. I should add quickly that of course this is only as far as they know, it is purely from the necessity of the ‘witness protection’ as we like to call it - and we do not share rooms. Perhaps if we did my morning routine would be different, but as you know Diane my dreams in that regard have yet to be fulfilled.

However, back to routine. Yes, after my exercises and a shower, the plumbing here is excellent in that respect – although in general, I have some complaints to make about the sound of the pipes during the night, they do not aid restfulness Diane. After a shower then it is breakfast, pie as we have discussed and of course Coffee. I have had coffee every morning here and it has been perfectly fine, in fact damn fine coffee Diane, if you ever find yourself staying here I would suggest taking coffee over tea. Not your natural preference I know, but looking at my ‘wife’s tea as we lunched yesterday I was assured of its tepid nature.

So much for the morning, what of the day, you may be wondering, or the evening come to that? Well Diane, on that topic I can relate a somewhat strange occurrence. Last night we decided to go to the Opera for some entertainment – in fact the theatre which adjoins the hotel seems to be the only entertainment apart from a private screening room which I have not been able to access.

The theatre itself is big, roomy, and full of shadows, the décor is apparently vintage and somewhat Italian in style – more ornate than we’re used to back home, but perhaps LA has such a place and I simply haven’t visited. The seats were a little cramped but the darkness allowed me to stretch out without being too noticeable and for a little while, with the music of the orchestra and the soft tones of the singer to help us, we could relax, it was, Diane, almost intimate. And then an extraordinary thing happened – the light moved from the stage and onto two women in the seats way over on the right hand side away from us. The women were of normal appearance, one blonde and one a brunette. They seemed oblivious of the light, enthralled by the music, so much so, Diane, that they were moved to tears. We could see the glistening of them where the light caused them to glitter. I was beginning to scent a mystery, my agency trained curiosity was aroused. But at that very moment Laura pulled me from my seat, tugging at my hand in a state of distress which I could not fathom. Even now she is resting in her room, still somewhat shaken, but without telling me why.

Alas this will be one mystery I cannot investigate. And so Diane I have now finished my breakfast – and I will indeed be looking in on Laura before I take a stroll through this very interesting hotel. As you know, I was certain that we would be entering the lodge but there appears to be some period of waiting involved. The concierge has been vague on the issue but I hope to get some definite answers from him soon. Perhaps today Diane, perhaps today.

This is Special Agent Dale Cooper signing off – 9.45 a.m. room 603 The Grey Hotel.

sometimes scary, but familiar thing might cause laugh

is the movie even more scary?

(Mine personal biggest TP impression is "Falling" soundtrack. It was used on our Ukrainian Radio in the program where listeners were encouraged to write a story after a phrase from non-finished stories of famous writers. I wrote story about I even do not remember exactly what the phrase - "Let's go to Suriname (or Surabaya????) and I won the contest and my very very sentimental story was read aloud following this soundtrack. So I would never foget this tune - pam-pam... pam-pam... I was 23 or 25, very young)

wow!:)

Mwahahahaha...you know, my college friends and I all share a hive brain. Not joking. We live 1000 miles from one another, and we seriously still finish each others sentences. I'll do things or think of things that they will be doing and thinking. It is rather weird.
