Hee hee... oh, I'd knew you chime in on this...:)

Okay- give... "I should cocoa."
???

LOL!

'I should cocoa'

transl. 'I am immensely sceptical'

gets misused quite a bit tho.

Um... okay- still don't get it, but then, I'm american, you know...;)

ha ha!

ok, examples then:)

e.g.

"So it's me daughter's birthday next week, right - and Alan, my ex, he's sworn blind he'll come this time - so I says that Cathy (that's my little girl), don't you worry my gal - your daddy'll be here."

"I should cocoa."

or:
"Crikey! It says here that the planet Saturn is made of rubber."
"I should cocoa."

the common misuse (by non-Londoners) is as 'not bloody likely'
which is similar but not the same.

(next week on the show we shall explore the linguistics of Manchester. "Sound!" )

Oh, okay- that's clear as mud...
;)

Really, I'm just teasing- like to consider myself a bit of an Anglophile (for some reason)... that's what happens when your mother makes you watch Masterpiece Theatre on Sunday evenings.
Hee!
:)

y'know there was a great Sessame Street spoof of that many years ago; 'Monsterpiece Theatre' with Cookie Monster - classic:)
