some crazy kind of question

Do you keep tabs on ex-boyfriends and -girlfriends over social networking sites? Do you think it's emotionally healthy or dangerous? Amusing or painful?

Sometimes i wonder where these psychotic questions come from.

But i guess that everybody has that chord and waits for it to get played.

There is no gone. There is no forgotten. There is no lost.
But all the same...
From the silver in your belly to the water on my brain
memory is the whistle on the mystery train
so let's ride. Akiko-chan. One for you. And one = ALL.

.
many thanks to whoever posted that to youtube.

the picture is an adaptation of the cover for Murakami's Sputnik Sweetheart... in the words of Yusuf Islam; Pick up on a good book now!

I love Iggy Pop! Sometimes, I wonder why you are so neat-o.

But regarding your post, I think it is emotionally unhealthy to "keep tabs" on people, because like you mention in this post, things are not forgotten. Why dig up old emotions that just make us feel icky? It may be tempting to track people, but what result does it really yield? If the feelings unearthed are gross, then that is not for me.

On a side note, I also do not see the relevance of social networking networking in my life. I think being on one opens one up to too many icky opportunities, like the ones mentioned above.

I was gonna say- pretty cool icon there, my boy! ;)
I love Yusuf Islam... just picking up there on your last bit...
:)

iggy's pretty righteous for true.

i mostly think that keeping tabs on anyone for anything is creepy and wrong.

and hey - thanks for dropping by :))

*scone? cup of tea?*

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
you should give the book a try too, Murakami is a fine writer IMO :))

[identity profile] reginaclarejane.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Really? I've heard of Him- it's him, right-? I will definitely do it!
:)

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
fab!:) any recommendations of your own???

[identity profile] reginaclarejane.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I am purely into poetry- Saul Williams, Sylvia, of course, Marjorie Agosin, Federico Garcia Lorca... I'm pretty much a poetry snob right now. Although, I have to admit- I am reading the new Dan Brown...
;)

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
that's quite a varied selection really! :))

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
I am sadly Iggy Pop illiterate. :-(

As for your post... I do think it's really unhealthy to "keep tabs" on an ex. Computers allow us to engage in stalkish kinda behavior without ever leaving our rooms. If it's over, it's over... move on and find something or somebody new. Leave the past where it belongs.

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
music's in the ear of the beholder i guess :))

and memory is context.

i honestly don't know where the lj 'Writer's Block' gets such crazy questions... there was one about would you read someone's diary or mobile fone so either the question designers are deeply paranoid or (more likely) 14.

as for stalkers - in the real world they're just... not fun, no fun. at. all.

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, some of those questions are just ridiculous. Sometimes they're *really* reaching. lol...

Oh, so I shouldn't start stalking you then? Damn.

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
well, if you ask nicely and bring a carton of cigarettes... i might be persuaded. i'm very shallow. LOL!

[identity profile] java-fiend.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
LOL... deal!!!

some crazy kind of answer

[identity profile] mr-stapleton.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
I do not keep tabs on my exs.
Emotionally healthy? - and what is emotional health? It varies from soul to soul, what not? For me - definitely not healthy.
Emotionally dangerous it can be, especially when the break is fresh. But then, everything is dangerous.
Amusing? I'm amused only with something living, not dead. So - definitely not.
Painful? Once again, fresh wounds do hurt more. The cord certainly remembers all touches an is still there to get played.
So, if you value your life or your reason, keep away from the moor exs...

Um... wow. Thanks for this. I am .. speechless...

[identity profile] i-am-nyman.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
i recommend checking that movie out. It's called Slam. a lot of great poetry in that flick. low production values and shoddy acting, but still worth a watch for the message and art.

i been a fan of saul's for a while, but only really have his music, havent read much of his poetry collections or anything.

have you heard him on the Blackalicious song "Release Pts 1,2, & 3"? if not, i'll up it for you.

stay away from the moor

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
did you say moore?? too bloody right that little titch is a public menace! a menace let me add.

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
oh man - for real, i saw that flick in a run down student place, the only place showing it. i don't use this journal for that side of my life much but oh yeah.
i'd like the tune thanks - can't do much in return though. i guess i could find you a link for the last prophets (i'm old!) or - you ever see Sun Ra's Space is the Place???

[identity profile] reginaclarejane.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, thanks for all this... I will definitely check this movie out!
I've only read Saul's poetry and I haven't heard any of his music...
:)

[identity profile] i-am-nyman.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
