HA! You know what is really sad? I can barely speak my mother tongue anymore. I've been gone too long. When I speak Afrikaans to Afrikaans speaking people in SA they change over to English to accommodate me. Now that is a bloody insult. *nods* *g*

Zut alors! I was looking at other peoples' answers to this and the picture of the Gitanes pack brought back many memories for me. Of Florida, not of France, but the world is strange. You can't get Gitanes in the States anymore, alas; I used to smoke the unfiltered ones constantly.

Lucky Strikes? Seriously? Oy. And my second-favorite cigarettes were the Turkish State Monopoly ones, which were delicious but a wee bit hard to find. They disappeared at about the same time as Gitanes, alas. I have some old-school (i.e. without molasses) Lebanese hookah tobacco that tastes like the Turkish cigarettes, but the cut is different and the leaves are surprisingly thick, so I'm not sure I could roll my own with that...
