I think it makes enough sense as far as all story for now is fragmented due to Marianns's partial self-perception - if this is a right word.
and I was so touched with this young girl... reading, sailing, and with "material touch of life" - how she eats, takes bathes, this almost physical feeling of life... she is not fully consious about what is going on - and therefore she can enjoy simple things - 'cause she is less poisoned with anxiety, I think...
and the turn of the story promises a lot of intrigue...
