Milking my Diary farm:

Here are two ‘outtakes' from my diary post at http://johnsiddique.blogspot.com
I didn’t think they would fit there, so…

Sea and Sardonica:

Everyone, (or at least two people i know) are off holidazing to Sardinia (where the sardines or more correctly the sardinese come from, i believe). My geography being what it isn't i have no idea where the place is but it must be costal coz i know DH Lawrence wrote something called Sea and Sardinia. I think it was the sequel to Goodbye Mr Chips (ha ha!).

Either way it is clearly this year’s destination of choice. i await postcards with baited breath, and that's NOT a joke as anyone that knows me will testify, i love postcards, just received a top notch one from Iceland and also one from Amsterdam.

Then again, who really knows anyone? I had a very strange conversation today with somebody that I thought knew me fairly well and… wow… they were so wide of the mark, I actually would like to be that sort of person – they were painting me as some sort of adventuresome rake, and reducing my friendships to the crudest possible terms. Now, ok, if I was young then… well, who hasn’t sown some wild oats (and dumb) in their day but c’mon people this is 2010 and I HAVE NO LIFE! LOL! I’m an anti-social git who has gone out about 3 times in as many months and always runs home before turning into a pumpkin or losing a slipper.

Do I really come across as the shallow caricature they clearly think I am? Holy hell, I guess 3 times is still too many, I should just avoid people altogether… wails, sobs, gnashes teeth – stops gnashing suddenly, gotta go gentle on them ivories, yessir.

Teeth for two and two for – one for – oh crap

Why so gentle on the dental, you ask?
Well, yesterday was dental time again as I had to go n for some tests on my jaw – apparently I clenched it so tight that I damaged it (exciting update, I just lost a filling, bloody great heavy silver thing, right here and now while typing!! Back to the dentist I go! My God that was weird timing! AIIIIIII!!!) There’s a sort of right side fracture or something. Anyway, the upshot is ‘ouch’, hence the happy world of painkillers (see below).

Actually it’s making me nervous; I already know that my lurgy has been revealed as fluid in the lung, i.e. some kind of pneumonia (ha! I’ll moan all I want!) So I now have infection-a-phobia. Dentistry, it’s the one thing – I can take all forms of Doctoring and medical fun, honest, but dentistry gives me the willies, big time.

Now, where was I? Oh well, yes, ranting, ok – people and their perceptions… well, some people can surprise you I guess is all. I miss my friend Julie 0 right now; she calms me down better than anyone and without even knowing she’s doing it. I think she must have naturally tranquilising pheromones.

P for...

Painkillers, deep joy, by the Goddess, yes – ask the universe nicely and ye shall receive. I feel almost human again. Just had fun scribbling a semi-delirious piece full of nothing but the letter P.; It’s not exactly LITERATURE. (or even as good as the last thing I banged out,) but I’m enjoying doing these quick fics and coming up with prompts for myself, like a game. I wrote something for my lj (might have been the most recent couple of fics, I can’t remember) that worked around the word ‘awry’ which is just a word I like the sound of really, like Dennis Potter and ‘elbow’. P for… Potter? P for… pastiche? P for… the taking?? LOL!

........................

thanks to john (snappy dresser and sharp, sharp writer) for opportunity, sibilla luna for musing and prompting

I'd add that they fish out those sardines in Sardinia already canned. Your sense of sardOnic things, however, is sold uncaanned by pounds. And for free.
Now that you've manetioned about the dentist I remember that I've got a filling on one of my teeth on my lower jaw crumbled and that means I will have to see my torturer with the drilling machine dentist soon. Makes me feel uneasy even with all painkillers injected.
Welcome back, Nic. :)

greetings my good friend! don't ignore your teeth - or you may find yourself like me, among the dreaded antibiotniks!! :))

Oh, knowing what a terrible thing toothache is I forced myself to visit dentist's more or less regularly however dreadful the procedure itseld were.
Well, wou seem to be writing not so much in your blog lately - much less frequently than before and I often find myself missing your sense of humour. :(

And of course I wish you a good solution with the Dantist!

I would send you a postcard! Unfortunately I'm not in a very interesting place for sending postcards from right now (unless you think upstate New York villages with English-sounding names are interesting). But I would have sent you a postcard from Berlin if I'd known. Or if you tell me your address before the coming June, I shall send you a postcard from Brittany in France! How does THAT sound, eh?

P.S. I love reading this, I love hearing about your "real" life... I'm almost morbidly interested in it at this point, having known only your wonderful creative online life for – wow – several years now, I guess it's been...

P.P.S. I miss and love you <3<3<3 xoxo
