and later on we walk the wild queen home
the petals of her heart
with the wires exposed
she was born of water
we were stepping stones

all the breath scented air
all our candle light
dancing in between
the bishop and his bones

through the valley and its shadows
through the forest and its zones
pieces of machinery
singing as we go

nights under heaven
where the full moon shines
the wild queen leaves footprints
footprints the colour of wine.

I quite like it! The poem reminds me of Twin Peaks again - chess (Windom Earle), the wild queen born of water (Laura's body found washed up on shore), stepping stones (how she used those around her), valley and its shadows (the spirits of TP), the forest and its zones (the woods and Glastonbury Grove), pieces of machinery singing (the lumber mill), footprints the colour of wine (Laura's blood spilled as she's being taken to the train car). But that's just me.

It's just a coincidence of similar phrasing, but I mentally fit "walk the wild queen" into "wake the white queen:"
