walking the wild queen
and later on we walk the wild queen home
the petals of her heart
with the wires exposed
she was born of water
we were stepping stones
all the breath scented air
all our candle light
dancing in between
the bishop and his bones
through the valley and its shadows
through the forest and its zones
pieces of machinery
singing as we go
nights under heaven
where the full moon shines
the wild queen leaves footprints
footprints the colour of wine.

two very intriguing companion pieces. i love the surrealism and techno-feeling of these!
kudos, nic!

The first and last stanza in this are my favourite and I like that because it means a poem begins and ends well and it gives a piece an overall completed feeling.

It's just a coincidence of similar phrasing, but I mentally fit "walk the wild queen" into "wake the white queen:"
Cruxshadows - "Wake the White Queen" (Mirrormask)
