Someone else has said incredible - that was the word I was looking for. Surely this is completely original? I have a sad ability to retain a general sense of books I have read but that's all, so although I have read Baudolino I can't remember it well enough to make the links here. It is on my shelf though, which means I 'liked it'. Other books go to the Charity Shop. What happened to O'Robert?
