[Error: unknown template qotd] Is this ok? Sure, uh-huh. Well, my name is Lucy - hi, it's really nice to be picked for this, but I guess what I do is important even if I'm not. Not really anyway - not much.
Is that thing really recording? I mean... I can see the wire, but a gull's feather? That nib actually sharp enough to..?
Oh.
Ok then.
Yes, yes, it's good that the birds are coming back - the gulls at least.
But that probably says more about Lord Sky-Fill's Aviary than anything.
Uh-huh, yeah, once I saw Sky-Fill castle, part of it anyway, just drifting over.
I mean this is pretty high. 'Fact they say Castle Land-Fill is the highest blob of waste since the Earth stopped wriggling. But... the sky - the clouds... Some people think Castle Sky-Fill goes all the way up to the stars.
I don't believe that though.
No... don't be silly, that's not where the wind comes from!
Wind comes from everybody - if you mean the big wind. That's all the castles working together, pulling together.
And we have Percy and Primmingold of course - we got them cheap off one of Lord Sky-Fill's men - and they're big. Big big. We get them to flap nice and gentle - keeps the garden happy and that's - well, that's really what this is about, right?
The garden.
Come on, I'll show you.
You've got your boots on, right? Only it's pretty sticky - no, it doesn't wriggle. Can't be too careful though right?
That's what my dad always said.
What? No - no... he's dead. Died protecting the green, he'd be pleased enough with that.
I'm not, pleased, not at all.
Hmm? Yes - it was a raid, Pirates, after the soil.
No they didn't get any - and their bones are still hanging in Lord Land-Fill's amusement chamber.
He should've just fed them to the Fill worms. Why don't you ask them?
Sister Charlotte can make skeletons sing easy enough.
Oh.
You're like me then - no, I've never been inside the Castle either, but this is a respectable job all the same.
People recognise that.
That's my hut over there - don't you remember, didn't I...?
Oh, well, come in after and I'll make you a pot of tea. And with pretty bloody decent leaves.
Recognition, like I said.
Right - right, sorry.
Ok - let's go.. see there's a sort of path. That's it - yes.
I've known this place since I was a scampering baby, I caused a LOT of fuss you can bet. Ha ha.
Hey! You with the camera - Mind your footing!
I know that great box of yours must weigh a ton, but this stuff'll burn clean through if you stop still too long, even on the path.
It's amazing any Green comes up - but look at that... takes my breath away.
Look at that - and thank my dad for it.
