[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] leannecassie-27.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
im guessing that you like the t.v. series Firefly??

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
oh yes, very much so!:))

[identity profile] leannecassie-27.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
oh i like the series too! :):) i watched a lot of the episodes a long time ago. i remember the first episode of firefly. i believe Mal was in the middle of the fighting, and then one of his men panicked. in reply Mal said, "we're too pretty to die!". that quote is one of my favorites.

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
oh a lot of great quotes in that show - and you picked a fine one there:))

hmm... maybe i'll watch the dvd againn later tonight...

[identity profile] stoshagownozad.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
it took me a while to get an idea behind... and then! Boom!
nice thing 6)))

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
and it's funny, Firefly and Serenity, they link so well to what you have just been writing about...

Freedom through freedom (Mal and Co.)
or Freedom through Security (The Alliance)?

they are complex issues!:))

[identity profile] stoshagownozad.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
in that particular case Freedom by Freedom might mean I need my own aeroplane to avoid general security means :)))
not yet, alas! not now. but who knows?

and I really became used to Industrial Safety through almost 10 years in foreign industrial companies. I just believe there are some circumstances where security and related limitation of freedom and inconveniences are the least evil compared to the lost of my own sweet life :)))

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! oh yes, naturally:)) hmm, as for your own plane... well, i would not be too surprised - one day, one day!

[identity profile] stoshagownozad.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
really great. thanks a lot, so much of visual fun ;)))

browncoat2x2: Painting of C-3PO on Tattooine (Default)

There will be more available once all five new ones are done, but there are only 100 special ones for Comic-Con, done with some funky new printing style that won't be used for the regular ones in the set later on...

I have a longshot chance of getting one if my friend going to Comic-Con is allowed to get two... but.... seeing as how there are only 100, I find that highly doubtful. :o) Still, can't hurt to try!

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-07-17 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
yeah the next set is scheduled for the fall apparently... i can't wait!

good luck! - i hope you strike it lucky:))

[identity profile] thefoolshope.livejournal.com 2009-07-17 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Ohhhh it's PRETTY! *loves*

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-07-17 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-07-19 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
*HUG!* i've missed you!:))

[identity profile] gilliebeans.livejournal.com 2009-07-20 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
*HUG RIGHT BACK* I've missed you too!

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-07-19 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
plus - i wanted to hear your thoughts on dollhouse as a whole...

[identity profile] gilliebeans.livejournal.com 2009-07-20 11:26 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, Dollhouse! I am so looking forward to see what Season 2 brings us. Eliza, she's still not the heavy lifter on the show, but she's getting better. And man! can sweet Alan be scarrrry! I hope we have much, much more of him because I don't yet find Agent Ballard very compelling. I'll bide my time, though, Wesley Wyndham-Price wasn't much to watch early on, either. I really wonder what's going to happen to poor Victor, and to Dr. Saunders/Whiskey, but my main question was, why did Caroline/Echo go back to the Dollhouse at the end? My goodness, now I'll *have* to rewatch the last episode :)

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-07-20 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
:)))

have you seen Epitaph One, the 13th episode? It opens up a whole can of the great and strange.

Yes Dollhouse really had me hooked by the end and Alan was sooo good, really Amy and he just OWNED the finale:))

But I quite like Ballard for his understatement although i think season 2 will show that off a bit better when he interacts more with Adelle and Topher who, like Alan, are more fans of the BIG when it comes to their performances.
I certainly didn't mind Eliza but i do prefer a crew, y'know?
Oh and November was very sweet.

:)))

[identity profile] gilliebeans.livejournal.com 2009-07-20 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, November/Mellie was adorable, and she's going to be in the second season! I wonder how, is she going to be the one who steps in and saves the day when all is looking doomed for our heroes? I love those moments, the forgotten character comes back. And you are right about Ballard, it will be good to see him with some of the more flamboyant characters - him with Alan's character, when he had the identity of the agoraphobic potsmoking designer, was awesomely funny - just the walk down the terrifying stairs-without-risers, I could watch and watch.

I'm interested to see Ballard and November (gah, I can't remember her actual name) get reacquainted, with the uncomfortable knowledge that they've had this relationship that she doesn't remember, that he had sex with her after he knew she was a Doll and just following a program...and about her, I don't understand in what fashion she goes back to her life now. Where do her family and friends think she's been? If she entered the Dollhouse because she lost a child, won't she be just as heartbroken to "wake up" and remember what happened, as she was years ago when it happened? Or, does the Dollhouse manufacture the gradual emotional healing she might have gone through anyway? How can she not be, how can anyone of them not be in exactly the same emotional reality they were in when they signed up? What about family, friends, acquaintances, colleagues...how do you explain disappearing for 5 years, and not even sending a text message? Maybe the Dollhouse has a text-bot who keeps up with the Dolls' families - maybe that's the real purpose of facebook :)

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-07-20 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG! you could be right! FaceBook are SO busted!LOL!:))
yes, the messy life outside the house, Mellie - where will she go?

i can't help wondering about Ballard's wife and child and supposed 'life' - in the jossverse these things always come out into the open eventually..

so many questions... Alpha had a lot of Topher's body language and tics i thought, and Ballard changing direction (it was lovely how he out grew the 'white knight' thing) once he was in the House - what if he was programmed too?!?!

that's all a bit Bladerunner but still - 'he was looking for Caroline but now he must search for himself' has season 3 tag line all over it, ha ha!

i liked his partner at the FBI (not a very convincing FBI i have to say) so i hope we'll see more of her.

[identity profile] wytchcroft.livejournal.com 2009-07-22 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
i noticce in recent interviews that Joss is talking about spending time exploring Boyd and why he is where he is...

this is cool coz i like Boyd, especially when partnered with Ballard and not doing the flawed daddy (Watcher-style) bit with Eliza which is kinda old.

but they'll have go some to avoid the cop with a wounded past cliche - different with Ballard, i mean maybe Paul's a doll right?...
