Any Road Will Take You There


Funny sometimes the way associations will cluck about you like ragged hens waiting on a feed.

Re-watching Carnivale - and a friend's page here slipping down out the corner of my eye; Bob Dylan - 1976 Rolling Thunder Review.

Two countries on a threadbare map spread like an old blanket some shaman comes dancing on - a magic soft shoe shuffle.

And i'm thinking of Sam Shepard and his 'snake tide' and how Carnivale conjures that up so...

Digging out the battered copy from the book box - opening up the nicotine yellow pages with a snake skin sound, dry and flickering its tongue.

Old letter comes tumbling out - a note from someone and it turns into another Bob Dylan song - Dear Landlord - coz the letter is from a long lost house i rented.
The letter is from the owner. Throwing me out. On Xmas day.

True story.

Internet Jet lag - aka Net lag

 

This can happen – especially if (like me) you are a natural insomniac already.

 

The upside to realizing that you have sent your own body clock to another timezone

 

(apart from the fun you can have actually messing with time itself)

 

is feeling like you have travelled and visited ACTUAL PLACES (ooh!).
