map

having been on a major terry gilliam kick again recently,
i took a look on the internet and found the fabulous map from Time Bandits!
it reminds me of the map in Dune as well - and ties in nicely with the Babylon Dutch, yes it's quite inspiring!:))
(i should have thought of it before!)

Very Dune-esque.

fab huh?:)
i'm gonna do some checking and see if it's the same artist... (but i imagine Gilliam did his own).

It's kinda beautiful, do you have a larger version?

I loved Time Bandits when I saw it as a kid (no surprise there: half my family is Python-fan so it's practically genetic), but haven't seen it in ages. Must remedy!

Although I rewatched a couple of childhood favourite films recently and some didn't stand the test of time all that well... But I don't expect my third favourite Terry to let me down :)

larger image? yes, i shrunk the map to fit on the page here,
but actually there are some much bigger images on the web, i was surprised how well known it is!

what were the films that let you down??

ps - i'm the reverse, my family never liked monty python...
so when i was young i naturally wolfed down every and any thing to do with it:)))

my favorite part is where they sing "me and my shadow'" and my favorite line "i am the supreme being . . . i'm not entirely dim." :)

ah Ralph as God - perfect casting!:))

such a great film, Warner's devil is fab and i just love the 'gang';
"here's to stinking rich!"
"stinking rich!"
"and kevin!"
"here's to stinking kevin!"
:)))
