Today we turn our attentions to inner space, that mystic zone explored by the most powerful shamans and mystics. Many among you may be familiar with the concept of the totem self – an animalistic spirit that represents a person’s core identity; A strong element in folklore, the inner beast from bull to budgie, dragon to sprat.
Ah, but what is revealed only to the most enlightened, the last revelation for those pilgrims on he winding path towards truth is that such animals are not the highest or final definition of the soul.
No indeed not my friends for at the last the questing voyager of inner space turns home – the child soul reborn into the womb of the Goddess Mother Earth. And we learn that it is the fruit of the All Mother that represent the lasting identity of any individual.
Thus, we redefine our centre, not as a nest, or as a cave – but finally as that most precious of things, an allotment. And we must learn to fertilise this soil with our mystical practises to allow the rising up of our totem vegetable. Ask yourself, not am I man or mouse but rather, am I raspberry or turnip? Am I the wisdom of the great potato? Do I cleave to the bosom of the Earth as a grateful sprout?
