fiddler's (make me) reel
Dec. 27th, 2010 09:16 amDespite the force of this years fashionable flu, which I am currently enjoying to the maximum – I was just sorting through an old box of crap and found, uh, this, some old song from way back when which I have just finished off for fun, in between coughs and splutters o’course.
Anyway, it struck me as hilariously apt since what goes around comes around and whaddya know, I’m sat in a blue room in winter staring at the snow (and I’m thinking maybe I’m not the only one, right?). It aint much but nothing and it helps to imagine a kind of drunken folk tune going along with it – damned if I can remember what tune I stole for it originally, but it was done once at least as a parody of the old Ray Charles hit if you know that song. And yes, I have known many fiddlers down the years. In Maida Vale they call them violin players, but bloody Gaiman’s probably blown the whistle on that by now.
This is about a fiddler - adopts Stephen Fry voice - and therefore not from Maida Vale.
Stay warm now people.
Fiddler’s (make me) Reel
no. 325671a aka it’s fucking cold outside.
Wow, a minute ago I was really cold but you
Sure know how to warm a room
Take away the morning blue
With your long red hair
Your fiddle and its case
Just standing there you’re already
Heating up the place
You got a face that a gambling man enjoys
Your smile is like a spinning coin
